Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recently came up with a new test method to evaluate the effect of long lasting coating. Product is being evaluated and more information will be updated soon.
“The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not cover sealers and finishes for countertops under the food additive regulations. The Title 21 C.F.R. Section 175.300 from FDA regulates materials for permanent and semi-permanent food contact surfaces, including countertops.” Such coatings are currently under houseware exemption.
